Music has been a part of church culture for as a long as church has been around. From flutes and guitars to hymns and liturgical chants, music has become a mainstay in group and private worship sessions. We have seen music in church to be like prayer with melody, harmony and instruments. Music times in churches across America serve to prepare hearts for later discussions and give folks some time to mellow out, get unified, or simply dump the crap that has piled up from the previous week.

At City Church, folks can sit and listen, stand and sing, or do a bit of both. We often have music before and after the discussion times. We have been honored to see fine musicians stop by and hang out at City Church. Click on a link below to follow City Church musicians.

City Church loves music, and we think the American church is just scratching the surface of using the beauty of music to enhance and inspire its Sunday gatherings. So get creative, write new songs, and feel free to sing.
